My Daughter is Transitioning!
My fifteen year old daughter has decided to try transitioning to natural hair. Her last relaxer was in the first week of August, which was about four months ago. She has really been going back and forth with the decision to go natural, which is totally understandable because going natural is not an easy decision to make. At first she tried getting a blow dry and flat iron about once a week and every so often she was doing braid-outs. By the end of October, she found that it was getting too hard keep up a blow dry and flat iron with her active schedule. Her week can include anything from dance practices a few times a week, competitions and games. She was struggling to keep her hairstyle looking nice after such a hard workout. The "big chop" would be easy to maintain, but it was not an option for her. That was way too drastic of a change. She wanted to ease her way into it, so she decided to go with a sew-in. It was a protective style that was easy enough for working out and it still allowed her some options for hairstyles for competitions, games and everyday.
I really love this look, I think it can work for anyone who wants an easy, carefree style.
